Vietnam has been trying to… upgrade its game concerning tourism and the first step towards this direction is the idea of a new casino to be created to the Lang Co Laguna beach resort. The Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee have asked the government’s permission to invest even more money (the amount is about to reach a total of 2$ billion) in Lang Co Laguna beach resort and to open a casino in that complex. Actually, not any random casino, but the plan talks about a partnership with the famous Hard Rock Casino and with the company Hard Rock International in general, since the latter will contribute by putting its name to some of the hotels too.
If the casino completes this plan without any problems in the process, it is expected to contribute US$245 million annually to the local budget. The start of the project was positive, since it received a green light from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, according to the local press. If the program will be approved, the Lang Co Laguna beach resort will take part in the government’s three-year test. Seems that the tourism industry is one of the biggest drives of the gambling one.
At this three year period, although the project has been reserved for international tourists and Vietnamese nationals who hold foreign passports, the locals will be allowed to gamble in the country’s casinos. As it seems, the Lang Co Laguna beach resort’s project holds all the requirements in order to participate in the three-year test. The pilot program was about to be applied at two casinos in the country, but neither of them is already built and that is the reason why the Lang Co Laguna project is about to go at the top of the list.
